Diving is a sport that requires training for the participant's safety as well as the safety of others that are in the water with you. When properly trained, a divers risk is managed through the mastery of specific skills in a manner consistent with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI ) and the Recreational Scuba Training Counsel's (RSTC) experienced programs of diving instruction.
Your Open Water certification is good for a LIFETIME!!! If you haven't been diving within 12 months a refresher is strongly recommended.
Who recognizes a PADI certification?
The entire scuba industry recognizes a PADI certification. Likewise, PADI recognizes your training with other agencies. A refresher may be recommended for certified divers with extended surface intervals lasting for 12 months or more.
